Tantric TribeTantric Tribe describes a community of individuals who may share similar beliefs or may engage in dialogues regarding new relationship paradigms. Tantric Tribes seem to naturally come into being as Tantrikas share their evolutionary process over time.
However, a Tantric Tribe is more than simply a group of people that share similar understandings and concerns. At some point there must be a basis of relationship and a mutual selection process. For many people, this is intuitive. It can occur in an instant of recognition, where two Tantrikas meet and in a single glance know, "We are tribe."
A caveat: One needs to distinguish between official organizations and one's true tribe. Kurt Vonnegut alluded to such groups and called them "granfalloons."
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A granfalloon, in the fictional religion of Bokononism (invented by Kurt Vonnegut in his 1963 novel Cat's Cradle), is defined as a "false karass" (imagined communities). That is, it is a group of people who outwardly choose or claim to have a shared identity or purpose, but whose mutual association is actually meaningless in terms of fulfilling God's design. The most common granfalloons are associations and societies based on a shared but ultimately fabricated premise. As examples, Vonnegut cites: "the Communist Party, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the General Electric Company, the International Order of Odd Fellows—and any nation, anytime, anywhere." A more general and oft-cited quote defines a granfalloon as "a proud and meaningless association of human beings." Another granfalloon example illustrated in the book was Hoosiers, of which the narrator (and Vonnegut himself) was a member (albeit grudgingly).
"If you wish to study a granfalloon, just remove the skin of a toy balloon."—Bokonon
