Tantric Encounters

Once one embarks upon the path of Tantra a world of possibilities becomes available that is not available to the non-tantrika. Tantric encounters vary widely from the energy-filled platonic relationships of the Tantric celibate to the intense depth of a committed Tantric couple to the complexities of polyamorous tantrikas.

Sacred Sexuality is what makes these encounters tantric. The Tantrika regards emotions and relationship issues as gateways to self-realization, and their partner as an opportunity to be in the presence of the divine.

Tantric Celibacy may seem like a misnomer, but actually has a place. Part of the spiritual aspect of becoming Tantric is developing witness consciousness and evolving past the feelings of neediness that drive many of us into relationships. The Tantrika becomes self-ignited and learns to run their sexual energy vertically rather than requiring a partner.

Tantric Singles tend to be those who move between Tantric Celibacy and Tantric Relationships. It is often the case that due to the rapidity of a Tantrika's spiritual evolution, they will take on a relationship only to find that it is their latest lesson.

Tantric Relationships occur when the Tantrika becomes sufficiently advanced in their spiritual evolution to have arrived at several realizations:

They are self-ignited and know that the experience of fulfillment rest with themselves and not upon their chosen beloved.
They realize the value of commitment for undertaking deeper journeys of heart, soul and sex, and have the desire to explore those areas best explored with a partner.
They have done sufficient work on themselves to have transcended their unfulfilled developmental needs and no longer confuse these issues with love.
They have come to regard any issues in relationship as aspects of their own shadow side rather than flaws in their partner and as opportunities for growth.
They come to grips with the practice of holding their partner as an embodiment of the divine on a moment-by-moment basis.

Polyamorous Possibilities come into play when a Tantrika naturally expands beyond pairing into chosen family or tribe. Polyamory is a general label which could apply to any lovestyle from promiscuity to the total fidelity within a Tantric Family.

Tantric Family is term applied to a small group of Tantrikas for whom the concept of fidelity governs their group rather than simply a couple. Rather than being bonded as couples, the Tantric Family is bonded as a group, and issues normally dealt with in the context of a pair are dealt with in the group as a whole.

Tantric Tribe describes a community of individuals who may share similar beliefs or may engage in dialogues regarding new relationship paradigms. Tantric Tribes seem to naturally come into being as Tantrikas share their evolutionary process over time.
