Tantric Celibacy

Tantric Celibacy may seem like a misnomer, but actually has a place. Part of the spiritual aspect of becoming Tantric is developing witness consciousness and evolving past the feelings of neediness that drive many of us into relationships. The Tantrika becomes self-ignited and learns to run their sexual energy vertically rather than requiring a partner.

 

As the Tantrika evolves, they learn more about their internal energies and areas that are in need of re-awakening. Although sometimes this re-awakening can occur with a partner, just as often a Tantrika may choose to undertake a solo journey rather than confuse the issues by bouncing them off another human being.

 

After the solo journey, they may re-enter the world of Tantric Realtionship.

 

At the most advanced level, a Tantrika dispenses with the need for relationship at the 1-to-1 level entirely, and may take on the aspect of an elder, holding spiritual space for community. In this way they may re-enter Tantric Celibacy in later years, having transcended the stepping stones of their earlier Tantric development.
